GHANA; CURSED WITH JOHNS?

In December 2008 when Ghana went to the pools to vote in a new President, one of my friends was quick to predict National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, the late Ex-President John Evans Atta-Mills as the winner of the elections over the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo. His basis for the prediction?   The NPP candidate did not bear John in his name!
His prediction surely came true. The NDC candidate surely won the elections. His advice to the NPP candidate? Go add John to his name before the next elections, but I don't think anybody was able to reach Akuffo-Addo to give him the advice. He lost again recently to Hon. John Mahama, who became the president of Ghana after the death of ex-president John Atta-Mills in the elections held on December 7th, 2012. Even though Akuffo-Addo still hasn't accepted defeat, the Electoral Commission has declared the NDC candidate, John Mahama winner of the elections.
But is it a coincidence that the four most recent leaders of Ghana all had John in their name or the country is cursed with Johns? A link to the list of Presidents of Ghana. So who will be the next John? Looking at the circumstances, it is not hard to predict that the NPP is going to win the next elections if they elect John Alan Kyerematen as flag-bearer for 2016 elections. We will see if the John trend continues.
